Shaun Taylor-Corbett (In the Heights) plays the central role in what is described as the first mainstream Indigenous musical in New York City: the story of a man who returns to the Blackfoot tribe from which he was removed as a child to share an opportunity that proves devisive. The show is inspired by elements from the actor's own life; he co-wrote the book with his mother, the veteran dance maker Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Swing!), and the score with Chris Wiseman (with additional music by Robert Lindsey-Nassif and Michael Moricz). The elder Taylor-Corbett directs and choreographs the NYC premiere, which combines pop-rock songs with Native drumming and dancing.
