Jerry Mayer's tepid biodrama-cum-hit-parade chronicles the intimate relationship between two Europe-born, Hollywood-made legends. Mayer gives his characters plenty of shtick and insipid dialogue but no depth, so it’s left to the performers to try to find the heart in their parts. Robert Cuccioli nails Maurice Chevalier’s signature singing and speaking style; Jodi Stevens, though game, fails to conjure the German vamp Marlene Dietrich in voice or carriage.—Raven Snook
