The busy, busy Ivo van Hove directs the Flemish opera company Muziektheater Transparant in a 1919 song cycle by the Czech composer Leoš Janáček. The sets and lighting are by Van Hove's partner, Jan Versweyveld; set in the modern day, the production incorporates text from Janáček's letters to his muse as well as poems (by Romani women) that have been set to music by Annelies Van Parys.
