Courage

NACL Theatre artistic director Tannis Kowalchuk plays a canteen-wagon owner who feeds off the war that kills her family one by one in a new version of Mother Courage and Her Children, Bertolt Brecht's brutal 1939 epic. The company, based in the Catskills, is mounting the production on Governors Island with a cast of 25, including Debra Winger (in a cameo role as a Brecht-like figure) and an army of stilt walkers.
