Time Out says

With only 60 seats, this East Village hole-in-the wall has become both a rehearsal and performance space for New York Theatre Workshop, whose offices and mainstage are just next door. The black box frequently hosts smaller-scale shows by both NYTW and outside companies.

What’s on

The 7th Voyage of Egon Tichy [redux]

At the height of the pandemic shutdown, the East Village director-performer Joshua William Gelb (jazz singer) entertained remote audiences with online theater that he created in his closet every other week. A highlight was this original science-fiction comedy about space travel, written by Josh Luxenberg (A Hunger Artist) and directed by Jon Levin. That team now reunites to reimagine the piece for solo live performance—though a good deal of digital trickery is sure to be involved. Though expanded, the show still unfolds within the confines of an 8'x4' box.
