So you’ve been thinking about getting into hang gliding ever since you saw Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, huh? (Us too.) The school Fly High Hang Gliding is your decidedly nonstoned guide, staffed by professionals who have been doing it since the ’70s. (Founder Paul Voight taught his son, who’s also an instructor at the school, to fly at age four.) During the four-hour course, beginners learn the ropes of the equipment on the ground, and once teachers feel that the newbies are good to go, they take a running start and launch into the air a few hundred feet up for minute-plus solo flights.
