Between the brightly colored walls and the music that sounds like a Quentin Tarantino film soundtrack, Zachary’s Smile nails retro charm—despite only half the shop being filled with vintage goods. It certainly helps that the other half stocks new vintage-inspired lines and reworked thrift pieces from house labels Zachary’s Smile White Label, Remake/Remodel and 9 Greenwich Ave (both average $88 for tops and $150 for dresses, and max out at $428 for a leather jacket). Shelves of boots of every style (average price: $98), from riding to cowboy, are organized by size and color, lining the perimeter of the store. Bins of scarves—including ethnic and bright styles—dot the landscape. Though most jewelry costs around $30, make a beeline for the $5 jewelry shelf if you really want to score.
