Though we cringe at the thought of another snow-pocalypse, Volang’s colorful handmade scarves ($55–$110), hats ($55–$80) and shrugs ($95–$120) will go a long way to help ease our cold-weather woes. After a successful debut in Williamsburg back in November 2009, the winter-wear wonderland is expanding with a new store on the Lower East Side. Owner Kristel Delevante decorated the space with vintage furniture and kept some of the metal pipes exposed to achieve an “old-school look.” Of note are her signature crocheted-flower–embellished headbands ($45), which come in deep hues like dark blue and burgundy, and crocheted hats with mini brims and decorative metal buttons ($55–$65) that should keep you warm and stylish. Also in store are embossed leather cuffs ($55) made by Delevante’s mother, and women’s sweaters, jackets and dresses Delevante picked up in Greece, Italy and Turkey.
