The storefront once occupied by Greenpoint boutique Old Hollywood hasn’t remained empty for long; the quaint, tin-ceilinged Vintage Modern is filled with furniture, which owner Erin Hall previously sold at the Artists & Fleas market every weekend. Her brick-and-mortar store focuses on midcentury American pieces, like a George Nelson for Herman Miller bleached mahogany bookshelf ($975) and a 1950s black walnut coffee table that was handmade in New York ($250). You’ll also find plenty of affordable housewares, including a set of nautical-themed melamine plates and saucers ($40) as well as garbage cans printed with world maps ($30). Soon, Hall will expand with gift items like throw pillows made from vintage silk scarves and handmade stationery, but for now, you can decorate your space with framed 1920s Serge Gladky Art Deco–style prints ($125 each), a wooden dominoes set ($15) or quirky screenprinted drinking glasses ($7 each).
