If you have a special date that calls for Bowie-style makeup, sisters Kyoina, Mekiro and Alexis Spearman might be able to help you out. After years working for such cosmetics giants as MAC and Sephora, the trio decided they wanted to start their own line of makeup, called Suga Babe’z, and opened this tiny, unobtrusive spot in an old barber shop just steps from where they grew up. The quiet, clean, no-frills space with dark wood flooring and bright yellow walls is a great place to get a basic facial (women $25, men $30) or your eyebrows razored and shaped ($10). It’s also the ideal spot for updating your cosmetic case: The foundation line ($28) is expanding and currently geared toward darker skin tones, but the sky’s the limit in the eye-makeup department, where jewel tones abound ($14). Ask to see some past customers’ photographs if you need inspiration for your application ($30).
