The past meets the present at this intriguing housewares store. Strawser & Smith’s looks to breathe new life into otherwise overlooked factory objects, sourced from cities like Detroit and Cleveland. The shop has an eclectic, industrial ambience, due to unfinished floors and brown wood-beam ceilings. Discover pieces created with repurposed parts, such as light fixtures fashioned from conveyer belts ($1,800 for two table lamps) and airport runway lights lamps ($800 for two). Or salivate over a reupholstered Eames shell chair from 1976 ($875), or Cleveland artist Jason Wein’s hand-blown square glass lamps ($300 each), known to cast gorgeous light and whimsical shadows.
