In 2005, brothers Johnny and Chris Cota started their leathercentric clothing label in California, bringing theatrical looks to everyday streetwear. With Chris as brand manager and Johnny designing, the line proved successful with L.A. residents and celebs such as Marilyn Manson and Liza Minnelli. Now, Skingraft finally opens its first NYC location. The simplistic wood-and-granite boutique is littered with taxidermy, and highlights unique clothing ($80–$1,000) and accessories ($50–$200) for both sexes. Ladies can splurge on cutout motorcycle jackets ($693), while guys can pony up for a studded leather vest ($825). Enliven your wardrobe with unisex leather hats ($130), pleated gloves ($133) and shredded scarves ($280).
