If a Native American chief and Joan Jett had a wild affair, their child would surely accessorize with Sara Samoiloff’s jewelry. The designer also has the high-fashion pedigree to back up her eclectic style: After working stints in the jewelry departments of Karl Lagerfeld and Givenchy, the metalsmith opened her first East Village boutique in 1994, which she then closed eight years later to focus on raising her family. She’s made a comeback by appropriately nesting her latest store on the Lower East Side. Worn Oriental rugs and quirky antique wall decorations like a pirate flag and a fencing mask provide the backdrop for feather-festooned leather lariat necklaces ($120) and eccentric crowns with flame details ($3,500).
