Outdoorsy types may be more drawn to Central Park than Soho, but this 35,000-square-foot store in the historic Puck Building is certainly a good reason to head downtown. In addition to peddling its signature outdoor equipment and active apparel, the behemoth tri-level outpost will offer ski- and bike-repair services for quick fixes before you hit the slopes (or the Brooklyn Bridge). Water-resistant women’s bike jackets ($52) that convert to vests and men’s nylon bike pants ($89) accented with reflective stripes will have thrill seekers well-suited for any adventure. For overnight trips, heavy-duty tents ($349) with mesh windows sleep four, and look comfier than some NYC studios.
