Store owner Douglas Grater is bringing sporty threads to his pair of Something Else Brooklyn boutiques with a curated selection of Patagonia men’s and women’s clothing ($59–$529) and accessories ($18–$75). Don’t expect to find fishing jackets and sporting equipment: “Our customers are a lot more likely to ride the subway than a ski lift,” explains Grater. Inside the permanent shop-in-shops, pick up baseball caps ($25–$30) that look just as cool at Sunday brunch as they would on the slopes, and printed board shorts ($45–$120) that are perfect for rooftop pool lounging. Add on vibrant fleeces ($99–$189) and messenger bags ($45–$130) for fashionably casual style.
