Forget sneezing your way through a dusty old shop in the hopes of unearthing special books and home decor; instead head to Greenpoint for a collection of out-of-print books, midcentury furniture and more. “You can always search for something online,” owner Matt Singer says, “but in our store you actually discover things.” Propped along thin metal shelving lie vintage books such as Rebel Rock ($40), a photographic record of the Sex Pistols, and Allure ($200), a compilation of fashion and photography by former Vogue editor Diana Vreeland that features works by Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. Furniture highlights include a brown wooden credenza ($775) and early 1970s speakers resembling black Styrofoam balls ($375 for the pair). Before you leave, browse the collection of vinyl records ($5–$10) or the carts outside that display classic books.
