While you might prefer avoiding the touristy hubbub around 34th Street, Mango’s store on the strip is enticing enough to make you reconsider weathering the crowds. The Spanish import’s third NYC locale (the other two are in Soho and Flushing, Queens) is an impressive 5,000-square-foot space designed with Japanese wabi, or minimalism, in mind. Neutral decor and simple displays, like a wall of several mannequin necks modeling single accessories, allow the clothes to take center stage. You’ll fall for ladylike A-line skirts ($90), asymmetrically striped shirts ($40) and cozy, long knitted cardigans ($80). Leopard-print ankle boots ($190) and suit jackets with leather sleeves ($140) blend sophistication with just the right amount of edge. Wrap-style sleeveless rompers ($90) are excellent canvases to pair with Mango’s slew of accessories, including bronze-colored chunky necklaces ($55) and structured leather messenger bags ($120).
