Canada’s cool, affordable Gapesque brand opened its first permanent U.S. store in Manhattan. The large space has a refined feel, with white walls, natural-oak details and minimalist metal racks displaying wardrobe staples for both sexes, such as women’s gold-buttoned peacoats ($99) and men’s crew-neck sweaters ($39). Ladies will also dig skinny cargo pants ($39), simple tank shift dresses ($39) and faux-sheepskin-lined aviator jackets ($69). Guys can grab slim-fit denim in a variety of washes ($39), quilted puffer jackets ($59) and fleece hoodies ($24), then top off their outfits with ribbed beanies ($8) and striped knit scarves ($16). We’re crushing on the footwear selection for gals, particularly suede heeled booties ($79) and flashy gold brogues ($79).
