With its floors and walls covered with pine planks, J.Crew’s Men’s Shop feels like a well-decorated boys-only den. On the first floor, you’ll find cozy duds for casual occasions, such as flannel shirts ($70) and fleece hoodies ($70–$98). Keep an eye out for the nice selection of hard-to-find magazines like Fantastic Man ($11), Men’s File ($20) and Inventory ($20), plus cool home furnishings like a John Derian glass dome paperweight that encases an Upper East Side map ($60). On the lower level, men can get dapper at the suit shop, which is filled to the brim with fancy yet breathable pieces like cashmere suit jackets ($995) and pants ($495), while a vault section holds twill messenger bags ($128) and Alden for J.Crew leather chocolate-brown cap-toe boots ($595).
