Downtown gals on the hunt for hip baubles should visit German designer Sonja Fries’s holiday digs. Housed in a former ice-cream parlor, the space exhibits Fries’s jewelry in plastic bubbles suspended from the ceiling, along with select jewels from other minimalist designers. Ladies with an eye for industrial-inspired wares will adore Sarah Richardson sterling-silver earrings ($250) and Max Steiner origami crane necklaces ($125). Sonja Fries sterling-silver bow necklaces ($450) will add oomph to a little black dress, while glitzy Kimberlin Brown Tahitian-pearl-and-diamond rings ($550) are sure to spark cocktail-party conversations.
