Those who’d rather have a barren home than accessorize with chain-store furnishings will find eclectic offerings galore at Hollander & Lexer’s sister store, Darr. “We carry found objects, not tchotchkes,” explains co-owner Brian Cousins. The goods come in every shape and at every price, from pairs of handmade Indian scissors ($12–$40) to a 1920s stainless steel-and-wood kitchen island ($1,400). Also on our radar: vintage framed sketches of faces and torsos ($200–$350) and century-old containers for jam, ink and shoe polish ($25–$250).
