This French furniture designer has made a name for himself producing pieces for the Mercer Hotel, members of the fashion set including Calvin Klein and business powerhouses such as Rupert Murdoch. Since opening his first Paris store in 1987, Liaigre has expanded, with locations in London, Brussels and Bangkok. He adds NYC to that list with this showroom and boutique, situated in an Upper East Side townhouse. Each of the four floors highlights different room setups, showcasing Liaigre’s clean, pared-down aesthetic. On the ground level, you’ll find a dining-room area featuring an oak table with curved legs ($18,200) and a sitting room outfitted with a sleek square-pillow sofa ($22,750). In the basement, find lighting such as metal wall sconces ($1,583), while on the highest floor you’ll encounter a living-room vignette displaying a plush sitting chair with a curved wooden back ($11,211) and upholstered dining chairs ($9,514 each).
