Alexandra Augustine and Emily Martin met while making white paper wigs for exhibition mannequins at the Met’s Costume Institute. In 2008, they joined creative forces to open a bridal accessories boutique, Bride’s Head Revisited, originally located within nuptial-research haven the Wedding Library. They moved their ever-expanding collection of veils, headpieces and other essentials for the big day to a larger space, which combines turn-of-the-20th-century architectural details like crown molding with a modern, elegant look. Named after a television miniseries Martin’s dad made her watch when she was a kid, the shop showcases an array of wedding-day accessories handcrafted and customized by the designing duo. Brides-to-be will swoon for French-style floral veils ($200–$300), glamorous Swarovski crystal hair combs ($75–$300), elbow-length veils ($155–$250) and elegant floral-and-feather combs ($75–$250).
