At their cozy curiosities shop, Barometer, Jenna Wainwright and Anna Studebaker (who spend weekdays working together in the Objects Conservation Department at the Met) riff on each other's respective skills: Jenna hand-makes jewelry inspired by the “deathless bric-a-brac” that master scavenger unearths from flea markets. In the wallpapered space, you'll find a motley mix of Jenna's designs ($30-$590) and Anna's vintage trophies ($1-$150), including an impressive array of salt and pepper shakers ($4-$45); the Bar-Aid, a box that displays 80 drink recipes with the turn of a dial ($70); and a cache of other gifty goods so singular and clever that they stick in your mind until you break down and buy them.
