German athletic label Adidas is making the Queens Center Mall its sixth home in NYC. The black-and-white–themed store carries a full range of products from the Adidas Originals (everyday basics) and Sport Performance (workout gear) collections, including your favorite Knicks and Red Bulls fan gear. In celebration of the new shop, the brand is donating basketballs to Queens courts and distributing 250 gift cards to local high schools. The students that redeem the most cards will win $1,000 in gear for their athletic department. Shoppers can show their Queens pride by participating in an in-store art installation: Customers’ photos are being taken, and all of the pictures will be put together in a wall piece that spells out all queens. The space is easy to navigate, with men’s and women’s sections organized by color, so ladies will have no problem finding logo tees in lively hues ($20), and guys can quickly grab bright zip-up track jackets ($65). Workout fiends can feast their eyes on an entire wall of kicks, such as Adidas’ newest running shoe with 360-degree ventilation ($90); one of the lightest cleats on the market, clocking in at 6.9 ounces ($100); and a less-heavy version of NBA player Derrick Rose’s signature black-and-red basketball sneakers ($100).
