Why they’re single:
Michael: He’s set in his ways and can’t find someone to match where he’s at.
Dominick: He’s found it difficult to meet people using apps.
Ideal date:
Michael: Dinner and then going bowling or to a burlesque show
Dominick: Good conversation over a nice dinner
THE DATE
First impression
Michael: “On the way there, I was hit by a car on my bike. I had to go to the hospital for X-rays, and I ended up missing the dinner. I kept telling the police that I had a blind date!”
Dominick: “I didn’t hear anything from him, so I thought I was being stood up. But I had a nice dinner by myself! He was able to get in touch afterward, and we rescheduled.”
Chemistry
Michael: “I ended up being fine. Once we actually met, I thought he was a nice guy and good-looking. I could tell he took care of himself. We’re both Italian and had a lot in common.”
Dominick: “I’m glad he was okay! When you’re younger, you just want to grab people, but as you get older, it’s more about companionship. We had a lot of similar interests.”
Awkward Moment
Michael: “There were a couple of awkward silences—we talked a lot about the food then. At the end of the night, he put on a really big, fuzzy coat that kind of took me aback.”
Dominick: “There weren’t any. It was really pleasant. Him missing the first date to go to the hospital was a little awkward, but I have to give him credit for biking in this weather!”
Afterward
Michael: “Neither of us knew how to end the date, so we left a tip, put on our coats and said goodbye. We didn’t exchange numbers—I think we were both kind of awkward.”
Dominick: “I really liked him as a person. I thought we had a really great night. I already told my friends that I’d go out with him again. He’s definitely someone I’d like to get to know.”
Verdict
Michael: ♥♥♥♥ “A spectacular restaurant. I would definitely go back. The twice-cooked risotto was great, and the crème brûlée for dessert was amazing.”
Dominick: ♥♥♥♥ “Oh, I loved that restaurant. After both nights there, I’ve had the opportunity to eat half that menu. Everything is delicious, and it’s an intimate setting.”
