Why they’re single:
Kris: His friends say he's picky but he thinks he's just selective.
Stacy: Most of the guys she meets aren’t interested in having a serious relationship.
Ideal date:
Kris: Grabbing a drink and then going for a walk
Stacy: Seeing some live music and then getting drinks
THE DATE
First impression
Kris: “It was raining, and the West Side Highway was bumper to bumper, so I was a little late. She seemed nice, sweet and friendly. We had a great conversation.”
Stacy: “The interaction was super friendly, but he wasn’t really my type. When I first met him I didn’t feel any physical attraction, but he was kind and well dressed.”
Chemistry
Kris: “We talked about a lot. She goes to fun things in the city like comedy shows and poetry slams—I was interested to hear more about that. I mainly just go out to brunch.”
Stacy: “I think he was more interested in me than I was in him—he’s texted me twice since the date. But the conversation was basic. I was kind of just going along with it.”
Awkward Moment
Kris: “There were some times when things could have been smoother. It was a lot of pause, take a bite, take a sip, look around and see who will think of a question next.”
Stacy: “Later on, the restaurant emptied out a bit. If we had a great connection, that would have been nice. But there was more pressure with just the two of us being there.”
Afterward
Kris: “I picked up that the conversation was kind of done for her. I was open to grabbing another drink, but it seemed late for her. She asked for my number, and we left.”
Stacy: “I did ask for his number. I was giving him the impression that I was into it, even though I wasn’t. I was having a little fun there, which may be cruel, but I’m just human.”
Verdict
Kris: ♥♥♥ “It was friendly; it was fine. There was nothing to complain about, just two people getting to know each other. It was nice to just meet someone new.”
Stacy: ♥ “There wasn’t any chemistry, but it was fun. At one point we were laughing and getting along, but that kind of faded and we got back to the dull date.”
