Sleek Japanese eatery Yushi brings healthy, affordable chow to the midtown lunch crowd. The Firecracker Miso soup is a hefty pint of silky udon noodles and smoky roast duck in a spicy ginger-and-lime-tinged broth. Bulky bento boxes make for a fine full meal—we liked the succulent chicken teriyaki combo, featuring skewered meat with white rice, a zesty green salad, edamame, and a selection of sashimi and sushi (überfresh tuna uramaki). Salads and sushi are grab-and-go style up front, but diners who that have the time to stay can settle in the inviting white-and–light-wood dining room, where a conveyor belt circulates maki and Asian small plates.
