Though it’s in the middle of Greenwich Street’s restaurant row, Viet Café is rarely full—surprising, considering its attractive, contemporary decor and tasty fare. Have a seat at one of the maple stools or benches and you can sample the menu of traditional appetizers, like spring rolls with shrimp, jicama, carrots and mushrooms; or light, fragrant entrées such as the steamed catch of the day with scallions and ginger, or the roasted lacquered duck. Solitary diners can sit at the counter overlooking the open kitchen
