Beloved Ukrainian restaurant Veselka, a 24-hour East Village institution since 1954, debuts this 125-seat spin-off nearby. The new space offers a modern interior decked out with polished concrete floors, long communal wood tables and hanging glass lights. But you’ll still find traditional Eastern European dishes, including borscht, vareniki and smoked pork hock, plus an update of Veselka's famous burger—here made with a brisket-and-chuck patty, a soft egg-bread bun and homemade horseradish ketchup. To drink, choose from more than 100 vodkas with an emphasis on small producers.
