The team behind Nolita's Jacques and 1534 heads uptown with this American brasserie, outfitted with a mahogany bar and black-vinyl banquettes, on the Upper East Side. Head to the year-round garden out back for a bite and a cocktail, such as the Blue Manhattan (blueberry-infused bourbon, Carpano Antica, baked apple bitters) or the Lazy Afternoon (gin, Pimms, muddled cucumber, lemon juice). The bill of fare features hearty plates like smoked salt-and-pepper St. Louis ribs with kale slaw, trotter tots with smoked garlic mayo and pickled red-beet eggs, and grilled chicken potpie served alongside spaetzle, artichoke and mushrooms.
