The food is based on sustainability—seasonal and local products that don’t drain natural resources—and the menu includes soups, salads and chicken potpie. A meze sampler offers tantalizing bites: smooth duck pâté on a tiny toast round, or caviar and sour cream on a small potato. The list of organic and biodynamically grown wines, beers and hard ciders is more extensive than the food menu. And, consistent with the spot’s farm-to-table mentality, the cocktails are made with house-infused liquors and locally sourced wines and spirits. One tipple combines pear-and-rosemary-infused vodka with black currant wine. If you indulge in a baked-to-order oatmeal cookie or a rich chocolate–rosemary pot de crème, you’ll still feel that you’re doing good—for the planet. Or drop by to pick up a snack, like the addictive organic popcorn with ancho-orange salt.
