In true New Orleans style, patrons walking through the door of Stan’s Place will be greeted with a blast of frigid air and a dose of Southern hospitality. The owner may even hover over your shoulder and guide you through the classic Creole menu, steering you toward po’ boys—crisp French bread stuffed with fried catfish or pulled pork—or bowls of chicken and sausage or seafood gumbo. The Big Easy brunch is a relaxing affair at which you can load up on large platters (French toast topped with cranberries and brandy syrup for $7.95), or do the morning Cafe Du Monde–style with beignets (three for $1) and chicory café au lait.
