If you haven’t heard of Japanese hotpot, let Shabu Garden educate you. Named ‘Shabu Shabu’ (the restaurant name clicks now, doesn’t it), the Asian dish is a combination of sliced meats, vegetables and herbs in stock. Served with a range of dipping sauces, this lip-smacking savoury dish is known for being both customisable and warming, but most of all uniting – since it’s generally cooked at the table where you sit.
At Shabu Garden, they’ve taken this concept and run with it – creating an all-you-can-eat style eatery. The broths available range from tradition pork bone, dashi, mushroom, tomato and vegetable. There are also various proteins and a range of vegetables that would make your neighbours veg plot seem lacking. But if you don’t fancy getting involved (and you really should) items are also available a la carte.
