This is charming seafood restaurant with excellent lobster rolls. We haven’t tried anything that wasn’t A. incredibly fresh, B. insanely delicious. It’s also a great spot to begin a night out in Redhook.
The vibe: It’s very casual with nautical themed ephemera everywhere. Families come here for dinner.
The food: If your previous NYC lobster roll experiences have consisted almost exclusively of overpaying for a skimpy, rubbery tail-meat-only sandwich, this place is the antithesis. The’ve got a super fun menu of different lobster roll styles and each is extremely satisfying, generously portioned, and contains that jewel-like claw meat. There’s also low-country-style boils and pastas and oysters–all of the things you’d expect from a place with a lobster on its street-facing sign. Plus a good burger.
The drink: The beers can come in buckets, flights, and pints. There’s a good selection. Wine goes by glass or bottle and it’s mostly white, obviously. The cocktailing is simple but effective. A frozen margarita is hard to say ‘no’ to. What you REALLY want is a Lobster Claw Bloody Mary, which is just as good as you want it to be.
Happy Hour Deals and Details: Monday - Friday 4-6pm: $1 oysters (minimum half-dozen) $5 wine and beer selections, $10 frozen Margaritas, and further deals if buying a bottle of wine or bucket of beers.
