The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is one of the holiest months of the year. From February 28 until March 29, Muslims around the world will be participating in a fast from dawn until dusk as an act of worship and spiritual purification. After the sun sets, it is customary to gather over a sunset meal, or iftar. For the duration of the observed month, Flatiron's ilili Restaurant invites all who practice to break fast with them.
From now until March 29, ilili Restaurant is offering a Ramadan Iftar Menu. The five-course prix fixe menu starts with mejdool dates and lentil soup to break the fast, followed by a choice of mezze from Hummus to Tabbouleh. Entrees include Chicken Taouk, Traditional Lamb Shank and Branzino Siyadeh. As for desserts, pick between Mouhalabiyyeh (a milk pudding), a Lebanese clotted cream and a Basque Cheesecake with fresh fruits and almond crumble. The meal is priced at $85 per person.
