This is not exactly a traditional Thai restaurant—the chicken and duck are made out of soy, one entrée is named “Three Musketeers,” and the tiny 30-seat dining room is fashioned to look like the inside of a swimming pool, covered floor to ceiling in circular white tiles and basking in a lime-green glow. The flavors, however, are as bright and intense as the real thing: tender eggplant in a spicy basil sauce; papaya salad nipped with a chili-lime vinaigrette; rich noodles swimming in green, red and yellow curries. It’s all good, cheap and meat-free. Just beware the desserts: They’re vegan, and they taste like it.
