Pete Thristino, owner of Pete's Downtown, returns to his roots with a Neapolitan-style pizzeria and bar in Park Slope. The fourth-generation pizzaiolo, who took a 35-year hiatus from pizza to focus on his Dumbo restaurant, will sling dough again at this casual, 70-seat eatery. Take a seat at the granite-and-iron bar and watch as pies emerge from the hand-built wood-burning oven in the back. Look for classic pies—boasting pedigreed ingredients like San Marzano DOP tomatoes and fresh house-made mozzarella—as well more creative options, like the pesto pizza made with Gorgonzola, roasted vegetables and mozzarella; and the BLD ("breakfast, lunch, dinner"), sporting tomatoes, mozzarella, speck, basil and egg.
