Pecking House

Time Out says

Born out of Chef Eric Huang's old-school family restaurant, Pecking House is made for hot chicken enthusiasts across New York. In 2020, Huang left his job as Sous Chef at Eleven Madison Park to start his own venture, and during trying times he ended up assisting his family in the former Peking House. As the operation and popularity of the food grew exponentially, the restaurant was renamed and moved to Brooklyn where it now operates.

With its cult underground status, this fried poultry purveyor has folks in a frenzy over chilli fried chicken, masterfully seasoned with Tianjin chilis and Szechuan peppercorn. It’s still primarily available via wait-list for pick-up or delivery, but it’s also operating as a pop-up from Rosalu Diner in Clinton Hill.

Pecking House says
Pecking House is a pun on a longstanding Chinese dining institution in Fresh Meadows, NY called Peking House. The restaurant was forced to close during the COVID pandemic and was relaunched as a takeout/delivery only operation selling hot chili fried chicken dinners under the leadership of fine dining chef, Eric Huang. The venture has been far more successful than anyone ever thought it would be and far more rewarding and fun than he ever thought it would be. While we build our our forever coop in Brooklyn, we're doing a pop-up at Rosalu Diner in Clinton Hill.
