The beloved chefs behind the notorious Nostro Ristorante have introduced a new sister spot to South Slope: Pasta Shop. From Italian classics to reinvented ragu and baccala, this new neighborhood gem spins traditional Italian fare into contemporary dishes with American flair.
Start with a traditional appetizer, like arancini (morish veggie rice balls) or vongole (clams), and follow that up with the freshest pasta this side of Brooklyn and a sauce of your choice. That's right, the order of play here is customisation. Opt for the classic marinara, for instance, and add a touch of pizzazz with sundried tomato fusilli. Or pair a fishy number, such as the gamberi e zucchine (sauteed shrimp and zucchini in a creamy saffron sauce), with the cup-shaped, southern Italian favorite orecchiette.
And did we mention it's BYOB at Pasta Shop? What more can one ask for?
