This generic, vegetarian-friendly trattoria features food as poorly conceived as its sardine-can space. The dining room, squeezed around a diminutive bar, is crammed with tables so tiny the legroom wouldn’t accomodate the mayor of Munchkinland. Gumdrop gnocchi are drowning in a gloopy tomato-cream sauce. Salads come showered in an oddball confetti of carrots and corn. A Neapolitan pizza—thick and gummy—isn’t rescued by its plentiful topping of anchovies and olives with pits. The restaurant’s only saving grace? A warm welcome from the host generously pouring Chianti from behind the marble-topped bar.
