Pricey, fancy and very pink, Mr K’s serves dishes from the Shanghai, Peking, Hunan, and Szechuan regions. Shades of coral and rose adorn the walls, carpets and the high-backed, cushioned armchairs. Genteel service provides steaming towels and orchid corsages while the chopsticks rest on gold plated dragon holders. The spring rolls and vegetable dumplings were no better than most take-out joints and the stuffed Peking Duck wrap underwhelmed with dry meat and a heavy, brown sauce. While the presentation impresses, you may want to save your dollars and head downtown.
