Middle Eastern cuisine goes far beyond the same old falafel at this innovative bistro. Miriam’s lantern-lit interior is perfect for a date—and the list of creative dishes helps drive dinner conversation. Herbs, spices and fresh combinations dominate an inspired Israeli-fusion menu featuring abundant salads and diverse entrées. Marjoram-crusted striped bass is served with cauliflower purée, sautéed garlic, green beans and an herb salad, and a tilapia cake is enriched with carrots, shallots, fennel, parsley and scallions. The true bargain is the $7.95 brunch, featuring eggs, granola, burgers and Israeli dishes. It is, predictably, crowded.
