The name is Italian for “sea,” but the beach-shack feel of this Chelsea joint is all-American. Monday through Thursday, oysters listed on the chalkboard are half price during happy hour at the busy, attractive bar. Even in winter, you can have a Kennebunkport moment with a classic New England dinner of twin seven-ounce lobster tails served with a baked potato and surprisingly sweet corn on the cob. “The lobsters are flown in from Brazil,” the waiter explains. In summer, pull up a chair at one of the slatted wood tables along Eighth Avenue.
