Businesspeople picking up a rotisserie chicken to take home, couples sipping margaritas at outdoor tables, a group of six celebrating in the white-tableclothed dining room—all seem happy here. The Zumba family has offered more inventive food at other neighborhood spots (Maria’s Mexican Bistro and Café Mexicano) but Los Pollitos stays solidly traditional. Fresh-as-can-be ingredients are used in everything from the fajitas to the carne asada. The charmingly painted wooden awning advertises house-made lemonade and café con leche.
