This stylish multilevel taqueria is certainly attractive: The dining room is outfitted with black tin ceilings and worn wood chairs; a downstairs barroom is covered in murals and paved with dark cobblestones. But the elaborate setup feels wasted on the modern Mexican menu from chef Julieta Ballesteros. Most of the dishes we tried, including an unappetizing ceviche mixto (think bits of seafood suspended in a glass of V8) and a bland chorizo-and-potato quesadilla, lacked any heat or depth. Hit Los Feliz for the scenery and the booze instead—more than 100 varieties of tequila are available, along with creative cocktails like a hibiscus margarita.
