Time Out says

Lloyd Adams opened his now-legendary Riverdale bakery in 1986, luring Manhattanites to the Bronx for a taste of his much-lauded carrot cake. He passed away in 2007, but his wife, Betty Campbell-Adams, keeps his spirit alive at the main shop and at its first outpost—this takeout counter in East Harlem. The original's orange layered confection is the main attraction here, but other homey selections include German chocolate, red velvet and pineapple-coconut cakes. Plus, this location also offers smoothies, house-blended teas and fresh-squeezed juices.
