An Italian café opens in the former Merkato 55 space, the first phase in a larger venue known as Villa Pacri, which will eventually include a lounge, a restaurant and a rooftop bar. The café itself—located on the ground floor, with 120 seats inside and an additional 120 on the sidewalk—will serve panini, such as one with speck and fontina, as well as larger plates, including a roasted half chicken with chilies, potatoes and fennel. Beverages range from espresso drinks to beers, cocktails and an extensive list of Italian wines.
