This super stylish little bistro on the corner of Hope and Havemeyer is as good as it looks. The minimal drop-lights, distressed floorboards, scattered verdant ferns and neon French phrases simply ooze chic, while the rôtissoire (on show, natch) wafts the delightful scent of roasting poulet.
If it wasn't obvious from the name and neon signs, La Cafette serves contemporary French cuisine made from sustainably-sourced produce. Wrap your taste buds around onion soup with honey and cognac, the beef burger on a brioche bun with camembert, or octopus with crispy potatoes. Or, of course, opt for half or an entire spit-roasted chicken. These bad boys are fall-off-the-bone tender and the potatoes they're served with will melt in your mouth.
Naturally, no French meal out would be complete without a beautiful beaujolais or sauvignon blanc. Give the wine list a thorough once-over, it's very French and very good. Alternatively, sample the expertly curated cocktail menu.
