Considering that coffee is the lifeblood of New York, and that New Yorkers tend to demand the best of everything, you’d think that street-cart sludge would be a drink of the past. Soon enough: Coffee devotee Jonathan Rubenstein, who has been turning us on to top-notch espresso drinks at his West Village shop Joe, has doubled his efforts with a second location. Expect the same robust roasts and attention to detail that won Joe your vote for best coffee in 2004’s TONY Eat Out Awards. Fans of the original spot will be happy to hear there’s a bit more room here, plus cupcakes by Amy Sedaris and free classes like Espresso 101.
